About Character
Name: Janet Dekyser
Nicknames: None
Role: Grizabella
Age/Year: 21
Tour Date: 2 months
Home Town: Inverness, Scotland
Appearance: Janet is an average height (roughly 5'5), built slim as a wand, but with angular curves. She seems very awkward, but moves with a sort of unpronounced grace. Some call her skinny, others call her bony, but it just is the way she is. Janet has a high metabolism (which she is very thankful for), and is always working to put on a little bit of weight to put some meat on her bony hips and shoulders.
Her face is just as angular as her body, with a slightly squared jaw and pointed nose. Her eyebrows are elegantly arched over long-lidded, almond shaped eyes the color of turf smoke. Her lips aren't full and pouty as she wished they were, but Janet worked with the wide mouth that suited her face. It could curve in a smoky smile or purse into a thin line of displeasure. Her mane of hair is thick and straight, with a slight flick outwards at the end. It's naturally an oak brown with lighter, slightly honey-colored highlights. She keeps it around her shoulders in length, but has a whim to cut it short, around her jaw to fram her face, every once in awhile.
Celeb Appearance: Diane Farr
Personality: Janet is a bit stand-offish and cold when she's first meeting people, but to be honest, she's just careful. When she gets closer to people she tends to open herself up a little too much and ends up getting hurt easily. Her stand-off nature has been her shield against people, including her own family. Before she could have been open and happy, but that was before she feels like her family betrayed her (explained in her history).
Janet tends to be a little bit of an introvert rather than a social person. She doesn't tend to 'click' with people very easily, but she has fallen in love with the CATS tour. It's given her something to work towards and train for so that she feels complete, and it helps Janet 'click' with other people because she knows they work towards the same thing as she is.
When Janet gets really close to someone, she takes them into her small and very limited confidant. Her trust is set out to a few and far between, but sometimes there are people that she feels she can let in. Things like her need for love, like hugs, and her want to be a mother are a few things that come out to those people. Currently the only people in her confidant are her sister Hattie, her father Rafe (the only two members of her family she still talks to), and her best friend since grade two, Allison Grady.
Likes: Long walks in the sun, being outdoors, dogs, intelligent/intellectual people, swimming in the ocean, ice cream, sushi and roman/harlequin novels
Dislikes: Spiders, bats, clowns, ignorant/stupid people, science-fiction novels, Star Trek, smoking, drugs, alcohol and partying
History: Janet was born into a large family in a small suburban area of Inverness, Scotland. Her mother, Tricia, and her father, Rafe, had two other 'actual' children (Allistair and Morgan) and always seemed to be wanting more. Janet grew up in a house where 'strays' always seemed to be welcome. Her mother took in orphans off the street, or was always bringing home another foster child every other week. The orphans stayed in the home until they were well fed, well mannered and ready to be adopted into loving homes, which Tricia helped find. Rafe tolerated this only because it helped his wife stay happy, but he was of the thought that they should concentrate on the children they already had. Morgan, the oldest, was the princess in Tricia's eyes and always acted like one. Allistair spent all his time with his books, so Janet was left out with the orphans and foster kids most of the time. When Janet was old enough for school, she finally had her escape from her home life. Her classes kept her delightfully busy and left her no need to feel alone; since her mother was always preoccupied with one thing or another (at that moment it was her new baby sister Hattie) and her siblings weren't really interested in her. Her teachers paid attention to her, and Janet just lapped up the attention like rich cream. Her grades were impeccable, especially in her art and gym classes. She loved the dancing aspect of her gym class, and it was her gym teacher who suggested to her parents that they enroll her in an outdoor dance class. Janet simply came to life when she danced, all her unhappy feelings and thoughts willed away.
When Janet turned 18, she finally took the decision to set out on her own. Allistair was doing his doctorat in neurological science, and Morgan was a top model and little Hattie was just starting high school. Janet packed her bags and told her parents that she was going to be heading to London to go to a prestigeous dance school that she had picked out for her future. Her father was very supportive, providing her with money for tuition and information for possible jobs, but her mother was not happy. Little did Janet know, but her mother had had an arranged marriage set up for her since she was about two years old. Her father hadn't known about it, so he couldn't have had anything to say about it. Janet remembered the boy, the fiery souled Gregory McCall, but her heart wasn't set in settling down and having as many children as possble; like her mother seemed to want her to do. With everything already signed and ready, Janet couldn't see any hope in getting out of his. Her father, however, had other plans for her future. He wanted her to be happy, since she didn't seem keen on the idea of getting married right now. He got the papers from the lawyers and had them annulled so that Janet was able to go to London to pursue her dream of becoming a Broadway dancer.
Rafe gave Janet a list of people she could talk to in London, one of his friends in particular, who she could talk to about places to live, and he gave her his love and reassurance that she could do it. Janet kept her hatred and feelings of betrayal from her mother, and two older siblings locked away in a deep chamber of her heart, but she would never forget it. She broke off contact with everyone except her father and younger sister, whom both supported her no matter what she went through. Morgan had known about the arranged marriage, but had been in her mother's favor so she kept it to herself; gleefully gloating about it after the fact was revealed. Allistair just hadn't care; his nose was constantly in another book.

Other: Very in tune with the emotions of other people since she is so in tune with herself.
Keyword: 'Waiting for the Dawn'
RPG Sample: Janet carefully inspected her face in the mirror. Her angular features took well to the make up used to make up her character, so she started with the base. As she stared at her reflection, she watched Grizabella take the place of Janet Dekyser. Smudging a little bit of red under her lips, Janet turned her head from side to side to look at the effect. She looked into her own smoky gray eyes and let out a long sigh. This was where she had always wanted to be; and no matter how many times she put on the make up, it always seemed like the first time. Janet watched her lips curl into a smile and let out a short, warm chuckle.
